“Le Grand Monde d’Andy Warhol” means “the big world of Andy Warhol” and it is an interrogation about Warhol.
Do you know Andy Warhol? Do a little search… i’m pretty sure that name remembers you something no?! On TV, movies maybe…? Maybe… no wait! That’s an artist! Andy Warhol is an artist… and everyone knows Andy Warhol, even if you could not recognise him : In your life, at a moment, you saw one of his pieces, probably not an original one, but a copy, even a cheap copy that is not the point. So, you saw thoses pictures, so colorful, so singular which are representating Stars, or anonymous people… but did you know the man? Do you know how he worked, how he thought, and the most important, why has he done all those pictures?
Well, while you’re in Paris you have a perfect occasion to know more about Andy Warhol : a great exhibition is taking place in “Le Grand Palais” from mars 18th to July 13th 2009, recount his life through two hundred and fifty works since its inception in 1962 with the portrait of Marilyn Monroe which was dead earlier in the year and all that it has generated in the life of the artist, until his death in 1987.
