Restaurant Le Petit Mâchon

Thursday, February 26th, 2009 | About Paris | No Comments

This month, we tested for you Le Petit Mâchon, a restaurant located only 50 metres from our hotel, at 158 Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris’s 1st arrondissement.
Lovers of fresh quenelles, of andouillettes and of bugnes, this restaurant is for you. Begin your gastronomic journey at the Lyon-style bar (that’s right, in Paris!): enjoy an aperitif while soaking in the restaurant’s particularly warm atmosphere and decidedly Art Nouveau decor, with its especially lovely chandeliers. Numerous photos of Paris, “capital of the Gauls”, decorate the walls, hinting at the restaurant’s marked “regionalization”.
Comfortably installed at your table, you can taste a Lyon-style sausage (that’s right, you’re still in Paris!), crayfish au gratin and vegetables with Parmesan, a monkfish osso bucco and risotto with orange and lemon peels, and a veal casserole flavoured with Chablis, not to mention the delicious gratin Dauphinois that accompanies numerous dishes. Sweet tooths won’t be able to resist the delicacy of the chocolate fondant or the lightness of the bugnes.
To accompany our meal, Bernard, the owner of this typical bouchon, recommended a delicious Croze Hermitage wine that titillated our taste buds.
During your stay in Paris, you won’t want to miss this as yet little known restaurant! I never hesitate to recommend it to my hotel’s guests looking to enjoy a first rate French meal.
And if the few drinks recommended by Bernard should go to your head, don’t forget that the hotel is only a short walk away!
