Long accused of growing to the detriment of the environment, tourism has taken seriously the ecological concerns of its customers, and perfectly understood the necessity to preserve the environnement in order to ensure its survival.
Thanks to the consideration of ecological issues, Hotel business is the only service able to receive the “Ecolabel” today, and actually plays the best figure!
Just like the Hôtel Aux Ducs de Bourgogne, who has been certified in april 2010 (cf. post” Ecolabel”, 30th march 2010), hotels, campsites, B & B, mountain huts and youth hostels, can benefit from this European label, and thus demonstrate their commitment to the environment.
Waste management, reduction in water, gas, electricity consumption and CO2 emissions… the levers are many to help accomodation managers to reduce their carbon footprint.
To go further in the green wave, here is a list of bio-ecolo-trendy adresses to be tested, to combine Paris and ecology!
